2017 UCOWR/NIWR (Universities Council on Water Resources/The National Institutes for Water Resources) Annual Conference focusing on “Water in a Changing Environment”
Conference topics of interest to CSI include economic and ecological water quality issues, surface and groundwater modeling, and voluntary mitigation.
From the event coordinators, “We have an exciting and informative program planned, with four plenary sessions and 54 concurrent sessions. Tuesday morning’s plenary session will feature renowned experts, Anne Castle and Erik Kuhn, who will discuss connecting science and policy and regional water challenges and successes. The 2017 Warren Hall Medal Award recipients, Dr. John Labadie and Dr. Deborah Swackhamer, will speak Wednesday morning. At Wednesday’s afternoon’s luncheon we ask Dr. William Alley and Rosemarie Allie and John Fleck, the authors of two recently-released water books, to tell us about their experiences writing their books and then what happens after the book is released. On Thursday, we explore the changing nature of water research funding with Peter Colohan, Ted Kowalski, James Jones, and Sally Rockery, representing NOAA, the Walton Family Foundation, NSF, and the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, respectively.”
