The Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) 528/2012) concerns the placing on the market and use of biocidal products, which are used to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms, like pests or bacteria, by the action of the active substances contained in the biocidal product.Echa has released an updated list of active substances and suppliers (Article 95) under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR). The Article 95 list of active substances and suppliers, was first published by ECHA on 24 September 2014. The most recent update was made on 29 June 2017. Two new substances were added to the list:
- 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, butyl ester, polymer with butyl 2-propenoate and methyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate (CAS nr: 25322-99-0)/ Polymeric quaternary ammonium bromide (PQ Polymer), for pt’s 2 and 7; and
- Active chlorine released from sodium hypochlorite, for pt’s 1,2,3,4,5,11 and 12.
